Forgiveness is

  1. Assertive
    1. You must reconcile => go out
  2. Sacrificial
    1. When you are wronged, you feel that you are owed something
    2. Forgiveness is the choice to absorb pain, vs afflict pain
    3. In example, financial, social/emotional debts. Son attempts to start atonement
  3. From inside
    1. Compassion moved from depth
    2. Risk rejection, would hurt if pushed away! Might be abused again
  4. Resurrection
    1. How do you absorb debt?
      1. resist superiority: all grudges only when you feel superior
      2. release liability for debt: cancel it
        1. do you know what you're given?
    2. Marks of a community that forgives
      1. Reconciling
      2. Persuasive (not belittling)
      3. Releasing from the past (closer after)
